Bio

Emma Petiot obtained her PhD in 2009 in Nancy at Ecole Polytechnique de Lorraine after 3 years collaboration with Sanofi Pasteur studying dengue virus production process. She worked then 4 years at the Biotechnology Research Institute of Montreal Canada, in Amine Kamen’s Animal Cell Technology group. She was there developing production processes of influenza virus and Virus-like particles (VLP) on HEK293 suspension cell line. In 2013, she returned in France to lead a European Marie Curie Granted project on Influenza VLP for foreign antigen presentation. She was also developing production platform for cell-based production of influenza virus at Virpath laboratory (CIRI). She is now CNRS researcher at ICBMS laboratory within the unique French 3d.Fab platform developing 3d printing for Healthcare applications. She is director of the joint laboratory 3D Innovation Lab between Sartorius and 3d.FAB platform (https://fabric-advanced-biology.univ-lyon1.fr/3d-innovation-lab-3d-fab-sartorius/). Between 2013 and 2020, she was also a lecturer and in charge of Biotechnology Specialization at CPE-Lyon engineering school in Lyon. She is now invited lecturer for sevral universities and institutions : ESACT society, McGill university, Siena University, CPE-Lyon engineer school, Technical University IUT-Lyon 1.

Research area

She has expertise in Tissue 3D Bioprinting, Cell-based production processes, Viral vaccine and viral vectors, Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) and Quality by Design. Her research topics are bioprocesses development for 3d printed tissue in the regenerative medicine, and quantification tools development for virus production processes.
