About Didier

Didier Bouyssi graduated from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 where he completed his PhD in 1992 under the guidance of Prof. Jacques Gore and Dr. Geneviève Balme. He was appointed as Maitre de Conferences in 1993 in the team of Geneviève Balme working on the development of new palladium and copper catalyzed reactions. In 2011, he joined the group of Prof. Olivier Baudoin working on transition metal-catalyzed fluoroalkylation of hydrazones. In september 2017, he integrated the team of Prof. Abderrahmane Amgoune, working on metal-catalyzed coupling methods using unactivated electrophilic partners such as esters and amides instead of conventional aryl halides. Recently, new studies have been devoted to metal-photoredox catalysis which is a booming field allowing new transformations.

Research Interest

The development of reactions carried out under mild conditions is today a major challenge for synthesizing molecular building blocks. In this field, organometallic catalysis and metal-photoredox catalysis have become essential elements for the rapid synthesis of original compounds.
To this end, my current interest is related to metal photoredox catalysis, particularly involving nickel as transition metal which possesses surprising properties.
