About Gaétan

Gaétan obtained his undergraduates degrees from ENSCP–Chimie ParisTech and Sorbonne University in 2020, conducting his Master’s thesis under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre (ICIQ, Tarragona) on photochemical alkylation of tryptophan-containing peptides. He joined the SCORE lab in 2021 as a PhD student under the supervision of Drs. Maurice Médebielle and Jérémy Merad.
After a day in the lab, Gaétan runs at the CrossFit box for a WOD. He likes sports in general, but also playing the guitar, walking in nature, and going out with friends.

Research Interests

Gaetan’s PhD research focuses on combining photoredox catalysis with radical organic catalysis. In this sense, he is conducting projects on photoredox C-H alkylation of polyols via catalytical Hydrogen Atom Transfer, and covalent radical catalysis by sulfur-centered radicals.
