Bio

Florent received his PhD from the University of Clermont-Ferrand, under the joint supervision of N. Morel-Desrosiers and A. W. Coleman, working on the “thermodynamic and structural studies of the complexation of amino acids and model molecules by water soluble calixarenes”. After two years in S. Matile’s group in Geneva where he carried out research on synthetic ion channels” he came back to Lyon in Anthony Coleman’s research group as a  post doc working on “anionic calix[8]arene synthesis”. He was then nominated in 2008 as assistant professor in Lyon where he joined the group of H. Parrot-Lopez, working on the “synthesis of amphiphilic cyclodextrins”. Since 2014, his research activities mainly focus on Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry. He defended his Habilitation thesis to supervise research in may 2023.

Research interests

The research field of the CSAp group is Supramolecular Chemistry. Initially centered on the synthesis of calixarene and cyclodextrin derivatives and the studies of their biomedical applications, his research has shifted towards dynamic combinatorial chemistry since 2014. With Julien Leclaire and Laurent Vial, he is particularly interested in a new family of macromolecules: dyn[4]arenes. Since May 2023, he is now Associate Professor ine the CSAp team.
