Members of COSSBA team (COnception & Synthesis of Biologically Active Substances) have an expertise in medicinal chemistry to develop molecules with potential therapeutic interests in cancerology (kinases' inhibitors and tubuline polymerization inhibitors) and infectiology (antibacterial agents or molecules targeting viral proteins). By combining pharmacomodulation approaches of various molecular scaffolds (inspired by different chemical series or by natural products) and interaction studies between the target protein and ligands using physicochemical techniques (such as NMR, Mass Spectrometry...), new chemical entities are identified and evaluated by our biologists partners. A part of our researches are also dedicated to synthetic methodology of chemical structures relevant in medicinal chemistry (mainly heterocycles), which are thereafter incorporated in molecular targets of our Drug Design projects.
Our colleague Amanda GARRIDO is one of the winner of the call for projects ACCUEIL 2023 of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University, which will allow her to continue the development of new antibacterial agents. This is an IRRESTIBLE project! Innovation and Research of new chemical entities to fight antimicrobial RESISTance thanks to innovative targets.
