About The Institute
of Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry
and Biochemistry (ICBMS)

Welcome to the ICBMS website, a mixed research unit (CNRS / UCBL / INSA-Lyon / CPE) which emcompasses more than 170 scientists, who are jointly working on the discovery of new processes, molecules and/or concepts in the fields of chemistry, biochemitry, and at the interface.

The institute Welcome to the ICBMS website

The Institute of Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry (ICBMS) is supported by 4 academic entities (University Lyon 1/ CNRS / CPE Lyon / INSA Lyon). Located on two sites and housed in 3 buildings, 13 teams (and their 170 researchers) are supported by 2 shared centers (NMR and Mass Spectrometry) and a chemical library unit.

The ICBMS is a key player in chemistry and biochemistry with 120 publications and 25 theses defended per year as well as numerous academic and industrial collaborations.

4 research areas are particularly studied:

  • Axis 1: Chemistry towards the environment
  • Axis 2: Synthetic methodologies
  • Axis 3: Chemistry of life
  • Axis 4: Biochemistry and molecular biology

Enjoy your visit, and looking forward to discussing!

Olivier Piva (D.u.) et Christophe Marquette (D.u adj.)
