About Romain

Romain graduated from Institut de Centrale Lille and Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) in 2022. He joined the ICBMS as a PhD student in 2023 to work on a decarbonilative method for ureas using nickel catalysis. This project a collaboration between the SCORE lab and the LHCEP under the direction of Prs. Abderrahmane AMGOUNE et Emmanuel LACÔTE (LHCEP).
In his free time, Romain plays tennis weekly and loves rugby. He also enjoys watching movies and series.

Research interests

Romain’s PhD research focuses on the development of a new methodology enabling the formation of N-N bond. This work is based on the joined expertise of the SCORE lab in metal-catalyzed activation of inert bonds and on the LHCEP expertise on energetic materials. The methodology will be based on the decarbonilation of ureas using nickel catalysis.
