About Jérémy

Jérémy obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Montpellier II in 2012 after working under the supervision of Dr Camille OGER (IBMM) on the total synthesis of 14-F3t-Neuroprostane during his MSc’s research. He then moved to Aix-Marseille University (iSm2) to start doctoral studies supervised by Profs Cyril BRESSY and Jean-Marc PONS. He then developed new methodologies in enantioselective organocatalysis concerning the desymmetrization and the double kinetic resolution of acyclic diols and relying on Horeau-type enantioselectivity amplification processes. After graduating at the end of 2012, Jérémy joined the group of Prof. Nuno MAULIDE (Vienna University) as a postdoctoral fellow exploring the reactivity of isothiouronium salts in thioetherification and olefination reactions. Back in France in 2017, he got second postdoctoral position in the group of Dr Géraldine MASSON at the Institute of Natural Substances Chemistry (ICSN) where he was involved in several projects relative to enantioselective organocatalysis and photoredox catalysis. In 2018, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Lyon (ICBMS) and his a current member of the SCORE team.

Research Interests

His research activities are focused on developing new synthetic approaches in (enantioselective) organocatalysis and photocatalysis. His main goal is to identify new activation modes in catalysis in order to selectively and originally convert abundant feedstocks in highly valuable molecules. Jérémy is notably exploring the reactivity and the synthetic potential of radical organocatalysts generated by merging organo and photoredox catalysis. Mechanistic investigations relative to these transformations also constitute an important aspect of his work.
